Music Video Finale

For this music video finale, I'm grouped with Viora Yamamoto, Ella Anderson, Cate Abadicio. All of them are extremely talented GT students .I've seen in the previous GT projects that they know what there are doing and won't disappoint. Our music video song is Hall of Fame by The Script. We chose this song because it's a really catchy song, everybody on my knew the song and agreed we should do this song.We also noticed that the funnier a video was the more people voted for it to be the best so by choosing this song there is a bunch of jokes and fails we can put into this song to make it funny.

The story line for my music video is all of us struggling with the things we want to learn.Such as, basketball, drawing, running, and surfing. These are the things we are going to be doing in order to get the point across. In the middle of the music video, we realize we need to try harder. Then we successfully do everything.I feel like our story line is like one of those motivational videos, which I really like about our video.

During this music video project we faced many struggles and complications.Such as, not being able to meet up, and communication problems.I feel that the my group and I, really showcased our best work.We tied second place in our music video critique, which really shocked me.In my own personal opinion, I feel like we earned a 3/4 and a half on this project.I  really do feel that we were able to keep going and produce a good quality music video even after facing many certain complications.

Song Artist : The Script
Song : Hall of Fame ( 00:21 - 02:21 )

Yeah, You could be the greatest
You can be the best
You can be the King Kong banging on your chest

You could beat the world
You could beat the war
You could talk to God, go banging on his door

You can throw your hands up
You can beat the clock
You can move a mountain
You can break rocks
You can be a master
Don't wait for luck
Dedicate yourself and you gon' find yourself

Standing in the hall of fame (yeah)
And the world's gonna know your name (yeah)
'Cause you burn with the brightest flame (yeah)
And the world's gonna know your name (yeah)
And you'll be on the walls of the hall of fame

You can go the distance
You can run the mile
You can walk straight through hell with a smile

You could be the hero
You could get the gold
Breaking all the records they thought, never could be broke

Do it for your people
Do it for your pride
How you ever gonna know if you never even try?

Do it for your country
Do it for your name
'Cause there's gonna be a day

When your, standing in the hall of fame (yeah)
And the world's gonna know your name (yeah)
'Cause you burn with the brightest flame (yeah)
And the world's gonna know your name (yeah)
And you'll be on the walls of the hall of fame

Be a champion, be a champion, be a champion, be a champion

On the walls of the hall of fame

Be students, be teachers
Be politicians, be preachers
Be believers, be leaders
Be astronauts, be champions
Be truth seekers

Be students, be teachers
Be politicians, be preachers
Be believers, be leaders
Be astronauts, be champions

Movie Trailer Premier

P3T3_Trapped from Kapaa Middle School MEDIA on Vimeo.

For this project, we must plan & produce a 90-120 second fictional movie trailer that engages our audience without giving away the ending. We must also commit to a dramatic voice actor who can hint at why our movie is a “Must See” film. Also including an original movie poster, we are sure to provide our audience with the highest level of production value so they are interested and captivated. Our movie trailer is about a girl who gets trapped in her our book.In this movie trailer, I play as the supporting character who stays by the lead character's side through out the entire film, so I help my team by being one of the actors.I also helped contribute to our plan by giving my thoughts, ideas, and feedback when helping to complete the VA script, synopsis, and the rest of the storyboard.

One of our biggest challenges were trying to meet up after school. Every time we dicied to meet up, one of us is unable to make it to our filming session. So far, we have canceled about five meet ups outside of school.Another challenge was two of our team mates were absent for a while, making it really difficult to film for our rough cut.On the other hand, one of our biggest success was completing our rough cut with a 3/4. We also finished finished our amazing movie poster that got a 3/4.Though our rough cut and our movie trailer both got a 3/4, we definitely could of done better.

In our critique results we got suprisingly good results from our classmates. We got most of our results in all expectations met which is great.I learned the importance of meeting up after school or on the weekends to film and how you should get the filming done as soon as possible. This was a cool project I would love to do again.

Metamorphosis Animation

In this project, we are creating an animation focused on metamorphosis. We must follow the project rubric and form metamorphosis team.In our teams, we will pieces together an animation. My two team mates and me first brainstormed ideas that our animation would be about.Next, we presented our two best ideas in front of the class, explaining all the details and characters. The entire class voted on which animation idea they thought we should animate. We then collaborated on a production plan. Then, getting it approved by Mr. Sandrel we started to create our storyboard. The storyboard is a board used to help us create our animation.

Our story's name is "Monkey Gains Confidence".It's about a young monkey named Joey who lives in the local zoo with his mom.The mom is a cruel mom who calls him mean names and puts him down.Joey wants to stand up for himself, but is to afraid to do so.Then one day, Joey is so sick of it he yells, "Leave me alone!". Joey then starts to glow. As the bright aura dies down, Joey is now a human. He walks out of the zoo, telling the mom, "I won't put up with this treatment any more."Since Joey has no human family, he walks down to the nearest foster home.Joey knocks on the foster home door and is let in by a middle aged woman. As he sits is let in he notices the women scolding the other children, even the had only been playing with their toys.Horrified, Joey leaves the foster home.Joey leans on a lamp post thinking about everything.A thought bubble appears with the  faces of the crying children. The thought bubble then turns into Joey and his mother.Joey's face becomes thoughtful. He then leaves the lamp post, then heads back to the foster home.Joey confronts the women about her actions. The women understands and promises to be better.Joey leaves the foster home happy and content.

C: Conclude by reflecting about your team’s results

To wrap it up, I'd say this definitely wasn't my best work.First of all, the overall animation was only 46 seconds, when the animation was supposed to be 60 seconds, 1 minute. We also only used one type of animation, so not much variety in animation types.Instead of a unique Garage band soundtrack, we used a royalty free music. The class was definitely feeling generous and gave us a 2.7 for our overall animation, which was a lot more than I felt we should have received. This was a fun and educational learning experience that I really enjoyed.

Geometric Portrait

Are facial expressions universal? They in fact are.Facial expressions include happiness, sadness and so on.A study done in New Guinea was done to answer this question.A scientist went to New Guinea and asked man to show the facial expressions he would show if his child died, his friend came to visit, he wanted to fight, and if he stepped in a smelly dead pig.The face showed for each of these were sadness, happiness, anger, and disgust. He may not know the literal term like we do, but they still use the facial expression regularly. These studies show that they are in fact are universal.

The process to creating a low poly portrait is simple, but time consuming. The first step is choosing a high resolution portrait of a person. There is a technique that allows you to choose a symmetrical picture so that you only need to do half the face and copy the other half.Next, you would go on photo shop, an app that allows you to add features to photos.Outlining the face with a grid is one of the many ways to do a low poly portrait.Another technique is using the polygonal lasso tool to outline triangles and then filling the polygons with color using the eyedropper tool.I created a low poly portrait using both styles. You continue filling in adding color to the portrait. After what seems like forever you then finish up your portrait.

In Mr. Sanderl's third period,We practiced all low poly techniques. The difference between our first one and second one is one portrait we took the picture here at school. The other one we took at home.

Verbal Landscape

Nature impacts my life a lot. I go hiking and swimming, make lei and grow gardens.I honestly don't know what I would do without nature.I live in Anahola, where there is a lot of nature. We swim at the river and ocean, go play in the red dirt and play in the rain.Nature is one of the many things that I really admire.Nature includes the ocean, rain, plants, and the sunset and rise.

Slow-mo and time-lapses are created when a video is either slowed down or speed up.People use time-lapses and slow-mo to show the details of a clip or the change that happens to something.Time-lapses are normally of the clouds and sky at sunrise or sunset. Slow-mo are almost always of nature. They use things from nature, such as, bugs, insects, and water droplets.

The hardest parts when I video my slow-mo and time-lapses is meeting the criteria and goal given my GT teacher, Mr. Sanderal. For example, time-lapse must have 1/3 ground and 2/3 sky. The camera also as to have environmental tripod, meaning the ground or sturdy object.Such as, a binder or bench. The most easiest part for me is in final cut pro editing my clips.Mr. Sanderal is great at showing us how to do the videos.I'm so excited for what amazing project will be planned next!

Poetic Personal Statement

Poetry is the way someone expresses them self.It is literture that uses rhym and rhythm. It represents a persons personal feeling and or experiences.Poetry is also used to express the poet's emotions.Poetry can inspire readers.Poetry calms me and keeps me from getting agitated. There are many different types of poems.Such as, haiku, limerick, and sonnets.

Nature speaks to me and inspires
Goals achieved through hard work and perspire
Always searching for knowledge
Hoping one day to go to college
Everyday I'm filled with glee
As I go out to be the best I can be

I used rhythm and rhyme with rhyming words, such as, inspire and perspire.Rhythm can be determined by how many beats and syllables you have.My poetic personal statement includes rhyme, rhyme and my goals and dreams. It talks about myself. It also shows my personality.I am a upbeat, happy kind of person.I hope I will get better at writing poetic personal statements.
